BrokerLift secures seed round investment from Gore Mutual Insurance Company.

Toronto, ON (Feb. 10, 2016) – BrokerLift Inc, a Toronto-based insurance technology start-up is excited to announce it has secured a seed investment from Gore Mutual Insurance Company. BrokerLift was launched in July 2015 by co-founders Thomas Accardo and Behzad Salehoun to help insurance brokers compete digitally and secure new customers profitably.

“The investment by Gore Mutual is an exciting boost to our business and the strategic alignment was obvious from our earliest conversations,” says Accardo. “As a start-up we didn’t need a silent investor, we wanted a backer who would get our vision and with Gore’s 100% commitment to broker distribution it was a perfect fit.”

BrokerLift’s mission is to make eCommerce an accessible distribution strategy for every broker and not just something reserved for the direct players. The co-founders have over a decade of combined experience working with brokers large and small and they’ve seen both the need for digital innovation and the pressure on profits.

“We purpose-built the BrokerLift platform to be a cost effective solution for any broker,” says Salehoun. “The technology places enterprise-level features and security into the hands of brokers at a price they can afford. Consumer behaviour is changing quickly and eCommerce will be critical in servicing customers who demand 24/7 convenience to purchase their insurance products. It’s not just the big guys who can offer this!”

“We see BrokerLift as a digital champion of the broker channel and that’s why this opportunity is so exciting for us,” says Paul Jackson, VP Distribution, Gore Mutual. “We’re pleased to back this independent ecommerce solution and I encourage all insurers that support the broker channel to offer their products on this platform.” Jackson also remarks “We want to help brokers integrate digital sales into their online strategies, so we’re covering the set-up costs for Gore Mutual brokers who choose the BrokerLift platform.”

BrokerLift currently supports 6 products from 3 different insurance companies with a goal of supporting well over a dozen by the end of 2016. Now brokers can take their websites to the next level by replacing “call me” with “buy now” and offer customers a seamless digital experience. BrokerLift enables brokers to provide ultimate convenience for customers while maximizing commissions, regardless of the premium.
